Tremron Home Additions & ADU: The San Diego Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Tremron-compatible hardscape elements for home additions and ADU projects across San Diego, with typical installed pricing for addition work running $53,100-$153,400 depending on scope and foundation type. Most Tremron paver patio, walkway, and retaining wall integrations for ADU access can be quoted same-day and scheduled within the week. San Diego homeowners usually discover a Tremron installation is failing when pavers shift after winter rains, joints wash out between the main house and new ADU slab, or the surface drainage pattern reverses and pools against the new foundation.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron manufactures several paver series that integrate with ADU and home addition projects in San Diego’s coastal and inland microclimates. The most common we encounter are the Autumn Blend and Sierra Granite lines in 60mm thickness for pedestrian patios and walkways, and the Olde Towne series in 80mm for drive-adjacent ADU access paths that see occasional vehicle loading. The Stonehurst retaining wall system appears frequently in tiered backyard ADU builds across Mission Hills and North Park, where lot grading demands engineered wall solutions.

To identify your exact Tremron product, check the pallet tag if you have leftover material, or measure paver thickness and note the edge profile. Tremron’s 60mm pavers measure roughly 2.36 inches; 80mm pavers run 3.15 inches. The color batch number matters for repairs, we have seen a two-year fade differential between Batch 4412 and Batch 4601 in direct San Diego sun. OEM Tremron pavers match existing installations exactly; quality aftermarket equivalents from Belgard or Techo-Bloc can substitute structurally but rarely match color chemistry after weathering. We source both and will show you the difference under natural light before you decide.

Signs Your Tremron Home Additions & ADU Is Failing

Signs Your Tremron Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
  • Pavers rock or settle unevenly after rain. The bedding sand layer has washed out or the base aggregate was insufficiently compacted during the original ADU pad integration. In San Diego’s clay-heavy soils around Clairemont and Kearny Mesa, this often appears first where the new concrete slab meets the paver field.
  • Joint sand disappears completely between stones. Polymeric sand breakdown from UV exposure and foot traffic leaves gaps that allow water penetration. Without joint stabilization, the bedding layer erodes and pavers loosen progressively.
  • Surface water pools against the ADU foundation or main house wall. The original drainage slope was compromised by soil settlement or was never engineered correctly for the combined roof runoff from both structures. This is the failure mode we take most seriously, water against stucco or siding leads to structural damage that exceeds the paver repair cost by multiples.
  • Retaining wall face bows or steps crack. Tremron Stonehurst walls without adequate drainage aggregate behind them hydrostatically fail during San Diego’s occasional heavy winter storms. The wall was likely built without geogrid reinforcement or weep holes at proper intervals.
  • Efflorescence blooms across paver faces and does not clean off. Calcium salt migration indicates moisture is moving through the pavement structure from below, usually because the vapor barrier beneath the base was omitted or punctured during the addition’s utility trenching.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope San Diego Price Range
Tremron paver patio reset (up to 200 sq ft) $4,130-$12,980
Joint sand replacement + stabilization $945-$2,950
Base repair with recompaction $2,360-$7,670
Retaining wall section rebuild (Stonehurst) $5,310-$14,160
Full ADU access walkway replacement $8,260-$21,240
Complete home addition hardscape integration $53,100-$153,400

What drives the range: access difficulty (narrow side yards common in San Diego’s older neighborhoods require hand-carry and mini-excavator work), base condition (whether we can salvage existing aggregate or must remove and reimport), and paver availability (discontinued Tremron colors require full-field replacement for visual consistency). Every quote is a flat written price with line-item scope, delivered before work starts, under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers workmanship; Tremron’s material warranty runs separately through their distributor.

DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check: verify whether downspouts discharge directly onto the paver field, look for visible base erosion at edges, and photograph any cracking pattern before it worsens. These observations help us quote accurately when you call.

Where DIY goes wrong: resetting pavers without recompacting the base guarantees recurrence within two seasons. Polymeric sand application demands completely dry conditions and precise watering activation, we have repaired homeowner installations where premature moisture caused the sand to set in clumps, locking pavers unevenly. Retaining wall drainage repair involves removing and replacing tons of backfill; the structural risk of a collapsed wall segment is real and expensive.

Measure twice, document once, then we can talk price. We bring a photo record of existing conditions, written scope, and flat price to every estimate. Call (858) 434-8926 to schedule yours.
