To identify what you have, check the upper right corner of the window sash for a small etched date code, or measure the visible glass thickness with a caliper: single-pane reads 3/16 inch, dual-pane reads 7/8 inch to 1 inch including the air gap. The door label is inside the hinge mortise, visible when you open the door 90 degrees and look at the jamb edge. Signs Your Boxabl Windows & Doors Is Failing

• The window slams shut or won’t stay open. The coil balance spring inside the frame has lost tension, which happens faster in San Diego’s coastal zones where salt air corrodes the metal pivot bar. • Water staining on the interior drywall below windows after rain. The nail fin wasn’t properly flashed to the Boxabl’s weather-resistant barrier at the factory, or the integrated flange has separated from the SIP panel. This is the failure we take most seriously, because the OSB facing on Boxabl’s SIPs wicks moisture and delaminates quickly once the path is open.
