Signs Your ViewLux Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

• Individual pavers rock or tilt when stepped on. This usually means the bedding sand layer has eroded or compacted unevenly, often where downspouts discharge directly onto the surface. The paver itself is intact, but the substrate beneath has lost its 1-inch uniform screed.
• Weeds growing between joints despite previous sealing. Polymeric sand degrades after 5-7 years in San Diego’s UV exposure, faster if the original installer used a generic joint sand rather than ViewLux’s specified product. The gaps are wide enough for root penetration.
• Edge courses pulling away from the border or lawn. Plastic or aluminum edge restraints fail when stakes corrode in coastal San Diego’s salt air or when soil movement from irrigation oversaturation pushes the restraint outward. Estate Series installations used a thinner gauge restraint that we’ve seen fail at the 8-year mark in Del Mar and La Jolla.
